Rod Collins was born and raised in a small town in the interior of British Columbia. He went to college and then university in Calgary, only a 3 hour drive away. Rod holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Computer Integrated Manufacturing from the University of Calgary (1991) Mr. Collins has over 30 years of petroleum industry experience in Western Canada with Shell, Schlumberger, GE Oil & Gas, Quinn Pumps, & Raise Production to name a few. He held a variety of technical and leadership positions throughout his career. Rod has many years of Production Management experience with the now largest public oil and gas producer in Canada, Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (CNRL) as well as with Laricina Energy, a small and innovative private equity in situ thermal oil sands producer. Rod is a graduate of Western Canada’s Banff Centre Leadership Excellence program with other CNRL Managers from around the world followed by ongoing team conference calls to continue developing leadership skills.. After 6 years of underemployment and witnessing the degredation and devisiveness of politics at the Federal, Provincial, and Municipal levels Mr. Collins is dedicating his life to rebuilding the Canada he grew up in, the province he had a successful 25 year career in and raised a family in, and the city he has resided in for the last 21 years.
